Farm Yard Wines... So Far.

My name is Gary, known around here as the Chief Rooster. I’d like to share who we are, how
Farm Yard Wines came to be, and the magic behind our cheeky wine labels.

Who are we?
We are a small, family-run wine business based in the Adelaide Hills, built on stories, laughter,
and good wine.

How did Farm Yard Wines begin?
In 2020, my wife Christine gave me a very special gift for my 70th birthday. Her words were
simple and straight to the point:
“Here’s an introduction to a marketing person and 24 bottles of Shiraz. The kids and I have
listened to you for 40 years saying you were going to have your own wine label one day, and that
it would be called Pigs Arse Shiraz. Design the label, print it, stick it on the bottles, give them to
family and friends — and when you’re sitting in your rocking chair, you can say you did it.”
I thought, stuff it — I’m giving the dream a go.
I got a licence, headed to the Riverland, and caught up with an old soccer mate who grows vines
and makes wine. Four hours later, after plenty of tasting, laughter, and reminiscing, he said,
“Gary, please use our wines for your labels. Let us be part of your dream.” And just like that, here
we are.

The magic of our wine labels.
We’ve all stood at a cellar door listening to which side of the hill the grapes came from, how large
the berries were, whether they were picked under a full moon and, of course, the plums, fruits,
and lingering aftertastes.
At Farm Yard Wines, we believe wine is really about people and conversation — or, as I like to
call it, social intercourse.
Whether it’s a wedding, two lovers sharing a romantic dinner, or Fred firing up the backyard
barbie, the common thread is conversation. Our labels spark that conversation — the laughter,
the stories, and the glance into your lover’s eyes as you toast to the future.
Forget which side of the hill it grew on or whether it was picked under a full moon. If the label
makes you smile, the wine brings people together, and the bottle doesn’t last long — that’s what
matters.
It’s just bloody good wine.
